Description

Sleeves in inert polyester film for enclosing single sheets, photographs and fragile documents that must be handled without being touched. Polyester is specified over PVC without exception: PVC off-gasses hydrogen chloride as it degrades, which acidifies and then destroys whatever is sealed inside it, and there is a generation of collections that learned this the expensive way. Polyester is chemically inert, will not plasticise, and stays optically clear rather than yellowing. Sealed on two edges so a sheet can be slid in without flexing it through a corner. Note the one real limitation: do not sleeve anything with a friable or powdery medium — charcoal, pastel, flaking pigment — because the static charge in the film will lift the medium off the support. Those want a folder, not a sleeve.
