Ordering

Shipping & dispatch

Orders are picked, packed and dispatched from our own stock in Frisco, Texas. We do not drop-ship. If a line is listed as in stock, it is on the shelf here.

Carriers, zones and transit

We ship across the fifty states. Small parcels go by ground courier; heavy and oversize items go by freight. Transit is typically two to five business days within the contiguous United States, longer to Alaska and Hawaii, and freight to a residential address needs a contact number on the order because the carrier will call to arrange the delivery window.

Shipping is calculated at checkout on weight, dimensions and destination. We do not inflate shipping to subsidise the product price and we do not discount it to look cheaper at the top of the page.

How things are packed, and why

  • Board and paper travel flat. Interleaved, corner-protected, between stiffeners. We do not roll flat stock unless you specifically ask for it, because a roll set into a sheet takes weeks under weight to come out and sometimes does not.
  • Cloth and leather travel rolled on a core. Never folded. A fold in a covering material is a permanent crease down the middle of a job.
  • Presses, shears and frames are double-boxed or palletised. Floor models are kerbside delivery: the carrier brings it to the kerb, not into the building, and it is heavy. Arrange help before it arrives.
  • Adhesives are water-based throughout, so there is no hazardous-goods surcharge, no ground-only restriction and no air-freight refusal. They must not be allowed to freeze; if you are ordering PVA in hard winter conditions, say so and we will hold it or insulate it.
  • Gold leaf travels flat, boxed, in its book, inside a rigid outer. Do not open it in a draught.

Tracking

Every order gets a dispatch email with a tracking number when the label is created. Ground tracking usually takes a few hours to show movement; freight tracking updates less often and sometimes not until the delivery is scheduled. If tracking has not moved in three business days, email us and we will chase the carrier ourselves rather than asking you to.

Lost, late and damaged

If a parcel is damaged in transit, photograph the outer box before you open it and photograph the contents before you move them. That is the whole claim. Send both to support@syngyns.store within seven days of delivery and we will replace the goods and deal with the carrier ourselves — the claim is our problem, not yours.

If tracking shows delivered and the parcel is not there, tell us within seven days. We will open a carrier trace, which typically takes five to eight business days, and if it is not recovered we replace or refund. We do not ask you to accept a loss because a carrier scanned something.

International

We ship within the United States only at present. We are not set up to handle export documentation, duties or the phytosanitary questions that leather and some paper products raise at borders, and we would rather not take an order we cannot deliver cleanly.
