Paste Brush, Round, Sterilised Hog Bristle

Description

A round paste brush bound in a plated ferrule with sterilised hog bristle set in epoxy. Hog bristle holds a charge of starch paste and releases it evenly, and the natural flag at the tip lays adhesive into the sheet rather than dragging it across the surface. Round brushes are used in preference to flats for pasting out because the bristle can be worked from the centre outwards without leaving a loaded edge that would over-wet the margin. Set in epoxy rather than a natural glue so the head survives repeated washing. Wash immediately after use in warm water, reshape the head with the fingers and stand it bristle-up to dry; a brush left in water splays permanently at the ferrule and never recovers. Not for solvent adhesives.
