Description
A brass line pallet for running a straight blind or gold line across a spine panel or along a board edge. The face is a true straight of stated width on a curved rocker, so the tool is rolled through the impression rather than pressed — rolling is what lets a single pallet lay a line longer than the tool itself without a visible join at each stop, which is the thing that separates a finished spine from an obviously repeated stamp. Machined from solid brass and hand-finished flat, then eased at the ends so the line starts and stops cleanly instead of digging in. Works blind, with foil, or with leaf over glair. Heat it to the leather, not to the tool: a pallet run too hot burns a brown line that no amount of gold will hide.
