Description
Pigment and metallic hot stamping foil on a 30 m roll, for titling with heated brass onto cloth, leather and paper. Foil is the practical alternative to leaf and glair for most work: it needs no size, no laying, and no skill with a gilder’s cushion, and on cloth it is what the trade has used for a century. Release temperature is stated on the box and is narrower than people expect — too cool and the foil does not release, too hot and it releases everywhere including where the tool did not touch, and the difference between the two is about fifteen degrees. Test on the actual covering material before the actual cover, every time; cloth from two dye lots can behave differently. Store rolls flat, out of light.
